Oh goodness, I have let time get away from me again. The holidays came like a whirlwind and this little blog of mine just got put to the side. I love blogging sessions, but sometimes let's face it, it's easier to post a couple photos on Facebook and go to bed. But with the new year, comes new goals, right. So many goals, so little time, but I'm promising to make a better effort. It's way too much fun not to!

So, this sweet little lady is a doll. She is so sweet and it took her a while to warm up to me, but after that it was all fun and games for us. It's so sad for me when these tiny newborns grow up so fast. I see them fresh from heaven and then before I know it they are back for their year session. It just doesn't make any sense that babies have to grow up so fast.

I love that she is a girly, girl. I love her big, beautiful eyes! Okay, I love everything about her!

I can't say BEAUTIFUL loud enough. I do remember telling them during our session just how beautiful their family was. I probably got on their nerves because I said it a lot! But there was nothing else to say! They are just beautiful! Okay and they are such a sweet family. I so enjoyed this session and I hope that they love seeing these special times in their lives in these images.

It's been almost two months since I updated this little blog of mine. Way too long, I know, but things have been busy around here. Sometimes it just doesn't happen, but you can always see new things on my Facebook Fan Page. So come check it out!

I just couldn't help but post this little cutie. We had scheduled his newborn session when he was 8 days old, but little guy woke up with a rash, so we postponed it. So we finally were able to have his session and it was SO MUCH FUN! This little guy was 5 weeks old and he slept almost the entire time. I was in shock. This never happens, but I was excited that it did. He did open his sweet, little eyes just as we were starting the prop shots. He is so beautiful and I am so glad he decided to be so sleepy! I am one happy girl!!

Luke is one of Karter's best friends. They were born only a month apart and have been buddies ever since. Luke will be having a birthday next week and we ventured out a few nights ago to do some family photos and some for his birthday. Luke is going to have a John Deere party, so his mommy decked him out in his nice "John Deere" shirt and some boots. Little Luke is growing up and he's such a great boy! We love him and his family!

I've sort of neglected this little blog of mine. Let's be honest...it's quicker and easier to just post a few photos on Facebook and call it a night. I do love my blog, but it's a lot of work. I don't even know if very many of you even read it. But tonight, I was kind of singing the "blues" to myself and thought, "Amanda, you need to post something on your blog...it always makes you happy". Okay, don't get the wrong idea. I don't talk to myself very often, but this time it really worked. I found one of my recent sessions that makes me smile.

This family has become so special to me. I can remember the very first time meeting them. They are one of the few ones that "goggled" me and I find that so stinkin' cool. We hit it off immediately and I have officially been their photographer for a year.

Looking at these photos...I can't help, but smile. They adore their little boy and how could they not. He really is as sweet as he looks! So, now my "blues" are not so "blue" and I think everything is going to be okay.

This session was such a fun time. This little boy was such a champ. We actually took these photos out on a sun porch and it was pretty hot that day. Okay, like extremely hot! He did such a great job in between feedings and some cool down time. I am in love with his hair and his cute, chubby cheeks. He's a beauty! Loved every minute that I was blessed to spend with him and his sweet mommy. Special thank to his mommy's friend Brittany for the amazing hospitality the whole day. It was superb!

This darling, little boy is the newest baby of a dear friend. He's such a sweet baby and look at all of that hair! We started the session off with some of the family and he totally peed all over his daddy. Once he got that over with, we didn't have any more accidents! It is so much fun to be able to document these first few days of a new life. He's already changed so much that these memories will hopefully help them remember how little he once was.

This is the third time trying to get these photos posted. It's a mystery to me why I am having so many problems with my silly blog. I'm getting frustrated, but looking at these photos of this darling baby makes me smile again. I love babies and I am so glad that I get to work out my baby itch with all of the newborn sessions that I do. I get to enjoy them and then leave to come home to my wild "big" babies! I knew this session would go well the minute I got off the phone with their mommy! She was so excited to pick outfits and just have a good time. She brought everything and it was so fun "going through their closet" and just making things look cute! These two kids....perfect! They did so well. It was so hot that day but they acted like professionals, but oh so natural! I loved this shoot, every single minute of it! Julia, you should be so proud, just look at them! I am so excited! I mean really excited! It's probably not a big deal in the scheme of things, but in my little world, it's nice to be recognized. I entered a photo into Confessions of a Prop Junkie's weekly themed photography challenge! This challenge was for tents & tee pees. I made this little tent and it makes such cute little prop. I love props! I love all things photography! And the good news is that my photo got selected. Yay! I'm thrilled and ready for the next challenge! Maybe I can be lucky enough to get selected again! We were best pals and talked everyday probably of school and then our paths didn't cross again until the morning of this session. I have had the pleasure of taking photos for this sweet family almost since I started out. They were my first ever baby package and they have stuck around. That makes me so happy! Like really happy! Now that sweet, little baby is 2 years old! I can't believe it and I am sure her parents feel the same way. We had a blast at this session. I had to make myself stop taking photos. It's been a few weeks since the party, but it was such a good time. Your mom did such an amazing job on all of the little details of the party. Patience is a virtue right? Absolutely and gratefully this little beauty has a mommy that has the patience of Job. You see, her 3 month session was due the weekend my daddy passed away and then it rained for like 5 weeks straight. I was starting to think that she was going to give up on me, but nope she is hung right in there. I am so thankful for that!

I enjoyed this session so much. I made friends right away with kids and their sweet mommy and I have so much in common. We could talk decorating all day. After a long, LONG week and a half of dealing with my broken computer, I am running full speed again. Everything is in working order and I am completing sessions as fast as my little hands can move. And it's all for this little girl...So here is how this day went. Excitement...getting to see Elizabeth and Hannah again. Sadness because it is raining. There are some changes going on here at Amanda Graves Photography. Times are busy for me as I am sure they are for you as well. I have two great loves in my life. I love my family and I love photography. Okay, I have many more loves, but let's just talk about those two right now. So taking care of my babies is my main focus and my love of photography came, when they came into my life. I have always struggled to find a balance between the two. I do not want to be so busy taking photos that I forget about them. I don't want to miss the things in their life that only happen once.

As the sun finally starts to shine, I am taking more and more sessions. With more photos, comes more editing on those photos, comes being REALLY BUSY! And with all of this crazy rain...okay don't even get me started. So here is the low down...I love giving sneak peeks. I love showing everyone my work, but it's just not effective. So from now on, I'll give one photo as a little peek and that way your photos will be done on time and you still will get to see one...just enough to hold you over. I hope you understand.

Photos do speak a thousand words. Really they do. Sometimes we see photos were people are smiling and maybe sometimes when they are crying. These photos show a beautiful baby girl that is almost one. She is lovely, but she absolutely didn't want to have anything to do with me or the taking of these photos. So I know now I have recorded forever these photos that represent how incredibly hard her sweet momma & I worked to get to her to stop crying and look at me. We worked hard for a good 45 minutes, jumping, whistling, making funny bird noises, almost begging. Something clicked...The stars must have been aligned just right. It was so sweet and we were so happy...All of us!

Ilana, you were worried, but I have proof that you don't need to be. I know you wanted a photo in her birthday outfit and you got that and so much more. Enjoy your vacation and all of the photos will be done when you get home.

Meet Emerson....calm and sweet, until I started messing with her. Oops, that's what I do. It's hard work, but someone has to do it. Her sweet mother & I worked so hard to get these few shots. I think that we were both exhausted at the end of the session, but oh boy was it worth it. I could have stayed there all night taking photos of this beautiful baby, but I knew they probably would get sick of me.

I am so excited to post this little sneak peek from a recent newborn session. This sweet, little angel is nothing short of perfection. She is beautiful and you should see her sweet mommy! Her mommy and I have been friends since high school. We lost touch for awhile, but we recently reconnected again through Facebook. I was blessed to take her family photos in October 2010 and we have been planning this newborn session since then.

So meet, Kate...beautiful, sweet, angelic...a miracle. She is loved by so many people so I hope that these photos will help them remember her newborn days. Leighanna, I know you were nervous that we didn't get anything, but you have nothing to worry about. I better see that beautiful smile of yours after you look at these!

This session has been a long time coming. Angela & I first made contact last fall, but schedules just didn't work out. So in November, we scheduled to meet in April and we finally made it happen! Yea! So since we had been waiting a long time, I wanted to make sure the session went well, but of course I can't predict the weather, which is such a bummer. I wish the sun shined just the perfect amount every time I wanted to take photos. Ummm...I'm definitely not that lucky, but we made the best of the wet grass and the cloudy skies.

There is something about this sweet family that just made me smile. I loved that the cute little boy ran around the ENTIRE time and the parents were so patient with him. We laughed the whole entire time. It seriously was so much.

I was so excited when I finally got to do this session. It was orignally scheduled for the middle of March. It rained us out for like a week. I mean not just rain, dark skies with no light. Her sweet mommay & I would chat on the phone to set up another time and then we just chatted for fun. It's pretty amazing how many incredible people I get to meet. I feel honored that families trust me enough to capture their babies.

So the day of the shoot the sun was shining and everyone was happy. Ava really is the most laid-back baby, really. She's five months old and I just want to capture her sweetness, without too many clothes. But she didn't want anything to do with me, my headbands or my camera! :) We caught a few smiles and her bright eyes lit up the room. It was a success in my book. Deiserae, I hope this is what you had in mind. Thank you for this opportunity

This little one was already a month old when his mommy contacted me to take his photos. He was not the sleepy newborn that I usually have, but he was the most perfect baby. No crying, no fussing...just perfect. The weather was absolutely beautiful outside so we moved everything to their back yard and it was the most wonderful way to spend an evening with a friend.

I love that he couldn't keep his eyes closed. I think that he just couldn't stop staring at his beautiful, sweet mommy. She's been waiting a long time for him to get here and they are in love with each other. These images are special and they will last forever...always capturing this sweet little boy straight from heaven. I love these

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been distant for a time because I just lost my daddy to cancer. He passed away on Wednesday and the funeral was yesterday. It's been a hard week and I just needed some time with my family.

It may seem weird that I am editing photos at a time like this, but it really is theraputic for me. It makes me smile! It makes me happy and I know that is what he would want for me.

I can't promise that I won't take another break in the future, but for now enjoy this beautiful baby boy!

I love it when I walk into a home and I feel an instant connection with the mommy. I think we could have talked all things girly the whole session. It was such a refreshing day and I truely enjoyed it so much.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I really have been so blessed to work with some of the sweetest people around. And this little boy just tops the cake. He is truly the sweetest thing! Not once during our session did he cry or want to run away. He just stared at me with those baby blue eyes and gave me the most adorable smiles, EVER!

He's a Christmas baby and his mommy & daddy wanted some photos around their tree. We had our session scheduled just a little bit after Christmas, but life throws you curve balls and I had to reschedule, but they left their tree up anyway. What great parents! Once again, I fell in love with another momma's baby. I don't know what it is about this little girl and her momma, but they are so special to me. I spent 2 hours just staring at her and hoping to get the perfect photo. And when it was time to go, I still wanted more, but she was so done with me. I always run out of time! I hate that feeling! I wish I could have stayed all day.

It's been so cold here...I mean really cold which stinks for taking photos. I don't think that the sun has shined 5 days this whole year and on this day we even

had a couple of inches of snow.

Thank goodness, this cutie was up for the challenge. We all gathered around the one window hoping for enough light, but when she smiled nothing else mattered. I just want to eat her up, don't you? She is such a sweet baby! I mean SWEET! Now by the end, after almost 2 hours of me making funny noises and being up in her face, she was finally done! I don't blame her.

I can't get kind of annoying sometimes.

Yes, I've got the blues.... I have a love/hate relationship with winter. I love that things slow down and I get to spends lots of time with my kiddos, but I hate being stuck inside all the time. We do get out occasionally, but not to play on the swings or to enjoy the warm sunshine.

Things are slow in the photo-taking department. I have a few sessions to finish and I will be posting some sneak peeks soon! I don't want you all to think I've fallen off the face of the earth, just enjoying some down time.

I wish that I was eloquent with words because I would want to write the sweetest things about this family. Unfortunately, I am can't possibly describe how wonderful these two people are. They are just so nice. I mean really nice. We had a great time during the shoot. We laughed from the beginning to the end. We even hung around in the parking lot afterwards and talked. I probably could have stayed there all night and talked to them.

They love their little boy so mcuh and how could they not. Just look at him! He didn't cry one little bit until the very end when we was so ready to be done with me. His mom wrapped him up in a blanket and he was out!

This was the first shoot this season in the cold. The sun was shining so bright, but it was freezing. There was even frost on the ground. I think it took a while for all of us to warm up but this little missy never really wanted anything to do with me. I love meeting people for the first time...We meet with a little shyness and I tell my famous knock-knock joke. They laugh and then it's all good from there.

This session was fun! See here I go again, FUN!! He finally figured out what I wanted him to do and then he was a natural. This was by far the quickest session in history. We were done in like 35 minutes and that included a 3 block walk. It was so nice. Hollie, you have the sweetes little boy and I hope that I was able to capture these moments the way you wanted.

While at the riverfront, we stopped off at the bicycles. He wanted to get on and I thought it would be fun.

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook, but one of the reasons that I LOVE it, is I have been reconnected with friends from the past that I probably would not have been able to see again. Case in point....these cute little guys. Their beautiful mommy & I went to UK together and lost touch in 2000. So fast forward about a year ago, we found each other on Facebook and now I am taking photos of her adorable kids. She is actually a trunk keeper for Matilda Jane Clothing. Her boys are wearing some of the clothes and so is she. She is just adorable in anything she puts on, but her outfit on this day was to die for!

Sheesh, I've been busy. I am trying to get every one's sneak peeks out and it sure is keeping me busy. Yep, you got it, this is 3 of 6. I'm on a roll!

This family actually owns this beautiful property. They have the most beautiful land with the most perfect landscape for pictures. These two little boys were busy and loved being outside. After a lot of negotiating, we finally got the boys calmed down and willing to give us a few photos. What a beautiful family! Tracy, you were hoping for one photo and look what we got! I hope this brings a smile to your face today! It has mine!!

This is session 2 of 6 from that busy Saturday. I am slowly getting through the photos, but it's a lot. I was blessed to spend time with all of these wonderful families. It was a busy day, but a good one in my book.

Just look at this one. They were so easy-going. We trampled through fields of weeds, endure the wet ground, walked dirt paths, but it was so worth it. What cute girls and what beautiful parents! You can see how much they love each other. Jennifer, I hope this is what you had in mind. You have a beautiful family!

This session is one of the 6 photo shoots that I had this day. I am working ever so diligently to get them all done, but it's a lot, so please be patient with me. Sickness is plaguing my family and time gets away from me so fast.

With that being said, look at this cute family! We had fun running around this location. It's their friends home and it was so pretty. This family is such a photogenic and fun family. Ann, I know that it was kind of a stressful day with the van and all, but look at how beautiful your family is! I hope you are happy!!

From the very first email, until I knocked on their door, I knew that this shoot was going to be so much fun. This little sweetie's mommy was so ready for her shoot and that's the kindof of momma's I love. She bought several things that were so cute and made my job that much easier! It was more like a party for Belle than it was a photo shoot. I loved every minute of it because every photo was oh so precious. I could snuggle this little cutie all day and I am sure her mommy does. Ashley, I hope you are happy with these. They are just too sweet!!

Little Charlie Man: (Louisville Kentucky/Southern Indiana Childrens Photographer)

Oh Charlie...You are so cute! This little guy was all smiles for the first half of the shoot and then he realized what was going on and he didn't want to have anything to do with me. He was a little under the weather and it was a little bit cold, so he was doing the best he could. We decided to change scenery and play in the leaves a bit. It gave me some more smiles from him and that made me so happy. He was totally ready to be done after that. I could take photos all day long, but sometimes you just have to call it a day. Miriam, I hope these make your day!

This little boy is so stinkin' cute and I could stop at that. But you know me, I like to talk. Sometimes I feel like I talk to myself on this blog. I guess I kind of do, oh well! His mommy was one of my first clients and has sent so many people my way, so I was so excited when she wanted his photos done again. He's just one of those kids, the ones that always takes a great picture.

Mr. Logan was so shy, but we still managed to capture his sweet personality. He loves two things, football and Buzz Lightyear so they both made an appearance in his photoshoot. I am loving his sweet face in all of these! Jenny, he's a keeper and such a cutie!

Towards the end of the shoot, he was totally not interested, so we let him play in the water. He laughed and giggled and it was a ton of fun!

Everything about this session was perfect. The beautiful family, the totally cool dog and the lighting, all perfect! From the first photo I snapped until the last, everything was just incredible. Their little boy was so sweet and would just do about anything that I asked, even down to staring in space and giving me a "little smile". I am really, really in love with these. The Wooden's: (Louisville Kentucky/Southern Indiana Family Photographer)

I had a busy day this day and it all started with this family. We met early in the morning and their little boy was still sleeping in the car. As they got him out of the car, car seat hair and all, he didn't really know what to think of me. He still was kind of sleepy, I guess. Now Belle, she loved being in front of the camera and I could have taken photos of her all day. She did everything I said to do and more!! :)

These guys are moving out of Kentucky soon and wanted to remember the landscape of the Bluegrass State, so what better place than Cherokee Park. With all of those trees, we didn't get much light, bummer I know, but we still managed to capture the complete sweetness of this family. And by the way, this is one tall family. I totally should have brought my step ladder.

Melissa, sorry to keep you waiting. I sure hope you are smiling over these.

Little man didn't want to have anything to do with me. He's a bit camera shy!

I asked Belle what she enjoyed doing with her mom. She was puzzled, but her mom noticed some left over breakfast on her face. :)

This one was by request. I took this as we were walking to the car. So cute and natural. I love it!!!

While looking at these images, my heart just skipped a beat because this little boy has to be the most handsome little boys around. He has the most beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous hair. He brought his little cars along with him on his shoot and he was having so much fun. I was too I have to admit. I love when everything just falls into place. This mini-session with little Reagan took place two times. The first time, she really wasn't feeling my camera so I left and re booked her session. Now the second time around, she didn't stop smiling and eating her little hands the whole time I was there. She is so petite and angelic! Another hometown session...another great family with beautiful kiddos. I think these guys are one cool family! This was my second session with them and I loved every minute of it! Allison, I hope that you are happy with these and thank your husband for gracing us with his presence. :)

I was fortunate enough to have a couple of sessions back in my hometown of Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Both of these families are so sweet and the sessions were so much fun.

The first session was with a gal that I played soccer with in high school. It was a cool experience to see her with her family. Her little girl didn't want to have anything to do with me. I mean, nothing. She wouldn't even look my way. And her little boy, he loved the camera! How funny that they are so different! Lesley, we were worried that maybe we didn't get any good ones, but we did! I have a big smile on my face and I hope that you do too!

This was their idea and it was so stinkin' cute!
